Company Overview

Our client is a leading global pharmaceutical PV consultancy with a strong presence across Europe . They are committed to ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and regulatory compliance. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Area Safety Head to oversee pharmacovigilance operations across the UK, Ireland, and Nordic territories.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the Local Nominated Person for Pharmacovigilance in the UK, Ireland, and Nordics, acting as the primary contact for local health authorities

• Provide oversight of the local PV system, ensuring compliance with local, regional, and global regulations

• Lead and manage local safety teams and/or vendor resources, including coaching and performance oversight

• Ensure timely and compliant adverse event reporting, risk management, and implementation of CAPAs

• Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and assess their impact on local safety processes

• Support audit and inspection readiness, leading responses to health authority queries and implementing corrective actions

• Collaborate with global and regional teams on safety strategy, documentation, and system updates

• Oversee local PV agreements (PVAs) and ensure business continuity planning is in place

Qualifications

• Degree in a healthcare or life sciences discipline (preferably Pharmacist or Physician)

• 6–8 years of relevant experience in pharmacovigilance within the pharmaceutical industry

• Proven experience in line management and vendor oversight

• Strong understanding of global and local PV regulations, risk management, and safety systems

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in English and at least one local language

• Proficient in safety databases and IT systems relevant to pharmacovigilance
