This is a senior-level contract opportunity for a Fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with experience supporting high-growth in Biotech animal health organisations.

You will work closely with the leadership team to support fundraising activities, financial planning, and investor engagement. The organisation is advancing innovative R&D programs and requires a CFO who can operate strategically while remaining hands-on where needed.

The ideal candidate enjoys a fast-paced environment, is proactive and organised, and brings strong experience in supporting fundraising processes within biotech or animal health.

Key Responsibilities

• Support fundraising activities, including preparation of investor materials and financial documentation

• Develop and maintain financial models to support fundraising and strategic planning

• Work closely with leadership on investor engagement and communication

• Provide financial insight to support decision-making and business planning

• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management

• Ensure appropriate financial controls and reporting processes are in place

• Manage external financial partners, including accountants and advisors

• Support board and investor reporting as required

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial planning with business priorities

Qualifications

• Experience in a CFO or senior finance leadership role within biotech, life sciences, or animal health

• Proven track record supporting fundraising activities

• Strong financial modelling and forecasting experience

• Ability to work in a hands-on, strategic capacity

• Clear and effective communication skills, particularly with investors and senior stakeholders

• Highly organised and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

• Relevant financial qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred
