Company Overview
Our client is a growing HEOR consultancy that supports leading global pharmaceutical and biotech companies with health economic modelling, HTA and reimbursement strategy. They have a strong scientific reputation and a collaborative, flexible culture. Their Health Economics practice is growing quickly, and they are now looking for an Associate Director to help shape its next stage.
The Role
This is a senior role for an experienced health economist who wants to lead complex projects, develop a team and help build a practice, while staying hands-on with the modelling.
You will lead health economics and HTA projects across a broad range of therapeutic areas, and you will be the senior scientific lead on client work. You will play a key part in growing client accounts and strengthening the firm's methods, processes and service offering.
Reporting to the Director of Health Economics, you will mentor and develop team members and work closely with colleagues in outcomes research, analytics and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development, adaptation, validation and communication of cost-effectiveness, budget impact and other health economic models
Make sure models are rigorous, transparent, reproducible and in line with HTA and payer requirements
Advise on the economic side of related work, including literature reviews, evidence synthesis, HTA submissions and reimbursement strategy
Keep track of changes in HTA and payer landscapes and what they mean for clients
Take overall responsibility for project delivery, including scope, timelines, staffing, budget and quality
Manage project risks, scope changes and competing priorities
Build strong client relationships that lead to repeat business and follow-on work
Support proposals, capabilities presentations, conferences and thought leadership
Mentor, assign and review work for team members, and support hiring, onboarding and performance feedback
Qualifications & Experience
Master's degree or higher in health economics, epidemiology, public health, pharmacy, life sciences or a related field
6+ years' experience in health economics, including at least 3 years in consultancy
Hands-on experience programming cost-effectiveness and budget impact models
Experience supporting or developing payer and reimbursement submissions
Solid grasp of statistical methods such as meta-analysis, indirect comparisons and survival analysis (including parametric methods)
Advanced Excel and VBA skills
Able to explain complex methods clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Strong writing skills and a track record of high-quality deliverables
Desirable
Familiarity with R
Experience running targeted or systematic literature reviews
Experience conducting indirect treatment comparisons
Experience interviewing key opinion leaders
Experience with regulatory submissions
The Offer
Permanent, full-time position
Base salary of CA$130,000 - CA$165,000, plus comprehensive extended health benefits and RRSP match
Remote anywhere in Canada
