The Role

The Director Market Access is a senior leadership position combining strategic oversight with hands-on delivery, shaping the future of the business through client account leadership, business development, capability building, and team development. The Director will manage key pharma and biotech accounts, lead complex market access projects across AMNOG, EU HTA, pricing and reimbursement, and drive innovation in methodologies and tech-enabled delivery to ensure commercial success against client, revenue, and profitability targets.

Acting as both a strategic advisor and operational leader, the Director plays a critical role in translating strategy into measurable impact, both within Germany and across the wider European organisation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage client relationships across pharma and biotech accounts, ensuring satisfaction and long-term partnerships

  • Act as the Strategic Advisor on complex market access projects, including AMNOG, EU HTA, pricing, and reimbursement

  • Oversee delivery standards and apply agile working methods across teams

  • Drive business development, proposal management, and client relationship building (working closely with the Global Business Development Director)

  • Define portfolio vision, drive the innovation pipeline, and align strategies across geographies

  • Represent the organisation externally as a thought leader at conferences, associations, and industry events

  • Mentor and develop delivery teams, with responsibility for staffing, resource allocation, and performance

  • Shape recruitment strategy and contribute to the long-term talent pipeline

  • Champion company values and foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture


Qualifications

  • Master's degree in life sciences, medicine, pharmacy, health economics, or business; PhD in a relevant field preferred

  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in market access or market access consulting within the German and European pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, ideally with international exposure

  • Excellent German and English language skills; additional languages an advantage

  • Strong understanding of the German (AMNOG) and European market access landscapes

  • Demonstrated success in client relationship management and business growth

  • Thought leadership and the ability to influence senior stakeholders

  • Familiarity with digital health, innovative pricing models, and EU HTA processes preferred

  • Strategic mindset combined with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability

  • Occasional availability to travel
