Our client is a global healthcare communications agency working at the forefront of medical affairs, clinical studies, real-world evidence, marketing, advocacy, and communications. With an international footprint spanning multiple continents and a heritage stretching back over two decades, they combine deep scientific expertise with creative strategy to drive meaningful change in healthcare.
They are now seeking a Medical Writer 1 to join their London-based Medical Practice team. This is an entry-level writing role for someone with a strong scientific background who is ready to build their career in healthcare communications.
The Role
As Medical Writer 1, you will develop your scientific writing skills across a range of medical content, working under the guidance of senior team members. You will build your understanding of complex scientific data, learn how it connects to client brand strategy, and develop the foundations of client service and project management in a fast-paced agency environment.
Key Responsibilities
Content & Writing
Produce medical and scientific content to a high standard, under the guidance of senior writers
Develop your ability to interpret and communicate complex scientific data clearly and accurately
Accept and apply feedback constructively to continually improve the quality of your work
Build your understanding of client brand strategy and how scientific evidence supports it.
Client Services
Begin to develop relationships with client partners and medical experts, supported by senior colleagues
Participate in client meetings, developing your confidence in presenting and discussing work
Stay curious about industry developments and therapeutic areas relevant to your accounts
Project Management
Manage your own tasks and deadlines effectively, keeping senior colleagues informed of progress
Develop an understanding of project workflows and delivery timelines within a healthcare communications agency
What You'll Need
A degree in a life sciences, medical, or related scientific discipline
Strong scientific writing skills, with a keen eye for accuracy and detail
The ability to understand, interpret, and summarise complex scientific and clinical data
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload to deadlines
A collaborative, team-oriented approach with a genuine desire to learn and develop
Any prior exposure to medical communications, medical affairs, or healthcare agency work is an advantage but not essential
