The Role
As Senior Account Manager, you will hold increasing responsibility across account management, client relations, and both people and financial management, collaborating closely with senior colleagues to deliver effective and impactful communication strategies. You will offer strategic counsel, position yourself as a trusted advisor to clients, and be accountable for delivering healthcare communications programmes that consistently exceed client expectations, all while managing a diverse array of competing client priorities.

Invest time in developing team members through line management and coaching, proactively providing open and constructive feedback
Explore project leadership opportunities at both client and agency level, demonstrating strategic and lateral thinking
Client Services
Build trusted client relationships and be established as the key client contact, delivering to a high standard and resolving issues in a timely manner
Respond to strategic-level queries and proactively provide strategic counsel, with the support of the senior team
Lead and drive the tactical planning process, ensuring strategic alignment and effective execution of client projects
Identify opportunities to expand existing client work and engage in internal and external new business networking, pursuing potential leads
Build awareness of relevant industry regulations (e.g. ABPI/EFPIA), GDPR, and trends to enable high-quality, compliant project management.
Project Management
Develop, discuss, and refine project briefs with clients to budget and scope projects appropriately
Develop, manage, and reconcile budgets, leading client discussions on out-of-scope work and overspend with senior support
Continuously evaluate and enhance internal processes, proposing innovative solutions to streamline operations
Oversee project timelines and status reports, troubleshooting timeline challenges and working with clients to adjust scope and delivery
Supervise work completed by junior team members to ensure a consistently high standard of quality
People Management
Take on line management responsibility for at least one team member
Work closely with senior leads to understand team needs, assign tasks, and provide feedback as appropriate
Lead team discussions and decisions, consolidating opinions and ideas into clear recommendations for clients
Foster an inclusive team environment where all members are recognised for their contributions
Demonstrate an ability to manage upwards, knowing when to keep the senior team updated and when to seek their input
What You'll Need
A minimum of 3 years account management experience within a healthcare communications, medical communications, or healthcare PR agency
A track record of acting as a trusted client advisor, providing strategic counsel and delivering programmes that exceed expectations
Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and leading client conversations on scope and overspend
Line management or mentoring experience with junior team members

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, delegate, and manage multiple accounts simultaneously
