Company Overview
Our client is a global healthcare leader with a strong commitment to patient safety and regulatory excellence. As part of their expanding operations in the Middle East, they are seeking a Senior Area Safety Officer to join their Dubai-based team. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with local and global pharmacovigilance (PV) standards and maintaining robust safety systems across the UAE.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary PV contact for local health authorities in Dubai, covering pharmacovigilance, cosmetovigilance, materiovigilance, and nutrivigilance
Oversee local safety systems, ensuring compliance with national regulations and internal procedures
Support the Area Safety Head in preparing documentation for Pharmacovigilance System Master Files and other regulatory submissions
Manage adverse event reporting, literature surveillance, and reconciliation with internal and external stakeholders
Respond to health authority queries and support audit and inspection readiness activities
Maintain and update local procedural documents to align with global standards
Ensure training and awareness of safety reporting responsibilities across the local operating company
Collaborate with global teams to implement Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAs) and process improvements
Monitor and interpret regulatory changes and assess their impact on local PV operations
Support PV contract management and ensure business continuity planning is in place
Qualifications
Degree in a healthcare or life sciences field (e.g., Pharmacist or Physician)
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in pharmacovigilance or a related safety role within the pharmaceutical industry
Strong understanding of local and global PV regulations and reporting requirements
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Proficiency in relevant IT safety systems and document management tools
Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic or Turkish is a plus
