Our client is a well-established HEOR consultancy that supports pharmaceutical, biotech and medical technology companies with the evidence they need for reimbursement and market access. Health economics is a key growth area for the business, and they are now looking for a senior leader to take the practice forward.

The Role

This is a senior leadership role for an experienced health economist who wants real influence over where a practice goes next, while staying close to the modelling and the clients.

You will head up a portfolio of health economics work, much of it global in scope, and set the technical and strategic direction for the team. Clients will see you as their senior advisor on economic evidence, and you will play a central part in winning new work and growing key accounts.

You will lead and develop a team of experienced and junior health economists, and work closely with colleagues in evidence synthesis and statistics.

Key Responsibilities

• Set the strategic and technical direction for health economics across the portfolio

• Oversee the development of cost-effectiveness and budget impact models, and design or build models yourself when a project needs it

• Advise on the evidence behind each model, including literature reviews and indirect comparison methods such as NMA and MAIC

• Make sure methods are robust and properly aligned with each client's evidence and access goals

• Act as final reviewer on key deliverables, including reports, presentations and publications

• Build long-term client relationships and lead senior-level strategic discussions

• Lead proposals and scoping, and open up new client opportunities

• Line manage and develop senior and junior team members

• Support project leads with priorities, problem-solving and how the team's time is allocated

Qualifications & Experience

• Master's or PhD in health economics, statistics, epidemiology or a related quantitative discipline

• 10+ years' experience in health economics, ideally within consultancy

• Proven experience leading economic modelling programmes, including cost-effectiveness and budget impact work

• Track record of managing and developing senior as well as junior staff

• Confident client-facing presence with both technical and commercial audiences

• Experience in business development, proposal writing and project scoping

Desirable

• Hands-on statistical skills and familiarity with R, Stata or SAS

• Experience incorporating NMA or MAIC outputs into economic models

• Leadership on global health economics projects

• Peer-reviewed publications or conference presentations
