Operating across multiple therapeutic areas, they continue to expand their US presence and are now seeking an experienced Senior Health Economist to join their team in either Boston or New York.
The Role
This full‑time, permanent position is ideal for someone who enjoys combining analytical modelling with strategic thinking and client interaction. The Senior Health Economist will contribute to the design, development and interpretation of health economic models that help guide resource allocation, pricing and reimbursement decisions.
You will work closely with cross‑functional teams, support the delivery of high‑quality technical outputs, and mentor junior colleagues as they develop their modelling capabilities. The role also offers exposure to client relationship management and the opportunity to contribute to proposal development and broader business growth activities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development, adaptation and validation of health economic models, ensuring high technical and methodological standards
Provide strategic input from initial project scoping to delivery, advising clients on model structure, assumptions, data selection and interpretation of results
Communicate complex modelling concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences
Oversee project workflows, delegate effectively and ensure timelines are met across multiple concurrent engagements
Review and quality‑check the work of junior team members, offering constructive guidance and hands‑on mentorship
Develop strong client relationships and identify opportunities to add value through additional analyses or related services
Contribute to internal development initiatives, such as training, best‑practice improvements and the potential line management of interns or analysts
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in health economic or mathematical modelling within industry (Consulting, pharmaceutical, med‑tech, or related environment)
Strong technical foundation supported by a degree (minimum 3.3 GPA) in a quantitative field such as economics, mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science or similar
Advanced proficiency in Excel and VBA, with the ability to structure complex models accurately
Proven success delivering modelling projects from initiation to completion, including direct client communication
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical outputs to diverse audiences
High level of accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and project timelines
Desirable:
Experience mentoring or supporting the development of colleagues
Familiarity with additional programming or statistical tools (e.g., R, C++, STATA) and a willingness to expand technical skills
The Offer
Salary $110,000 - $125,000
Bonus: Discretionary profit‑share bonuses paid twice annually
